A bit about me…

I could give you the basic stats — I’m a junior at Vanderbilt University. I major in computer science and piano. I’m from Shanghai and California. I’ve been drawing ever since I could pick up a pencil, and listening to music ever since I learned to sit still for more than 5 seconds. But to truly tell you about myself is to bring together my hodgepodge, one-sentence facts, and show you the “why” behind what I do and what I love.

Simply put, I love beautiful designs. Intricate La Sagrada Familia stained glass? Beehive hexagons? The landing page of Billie Eilish’s merch store? I’m constantly in awe. My two childhood passions, art and music, facilitated a way in which I could channel all my admiration into creation. Whether its putting my apple pencil to iPad or improvising on jazz standards, I strive to pour my whole self into what I create, because I’m fueled by an environment that never stops inspiring me.

Studying computer science in college has made me realize the art of beautiful, smart design in a new light. A well crafted algorithm decreases runtime. A clean IDE interface improves programmer productivity (and morale!).

Programming is hard. Technology can get confusing. Through it all, a smooth link between product and people becomes crucial. I’ve been fortunate to collaborate with like-minded peers on tech startups and school organizations to problem-solve and illustrate our way to streamlined success. This delicious blend of my multi-disciplinary life brings me much joy. Whether through code or design, my goal remains constant: to create efficient, impactful solutions. Let’s build something extraordinary!

Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication
